Description

You will have noted the floor of the case is completely empty and could easily accommodate a second radiator so our key message is that Lian Li and Der8auer have come up with a clever design that gives you plenty of options. The VGA-Vertical Top Mode gives more clearance for fan installation in the bottom, with 60mm total clearance. With an ATX motherboard only 240mm radiators can be installed in the bottom. By now, you’ve probably gathered that the O11D Mini and the new O11 Air Mini are almost entirely different cases. They’re based on the same base principles, but externally and internally they are surprisingly different. The O11 AIR MINI also accommodates AIO watercooling with enough installation space for 240mm or 280mm radiators on the top, side and bottom.

The O11 AIR MINI comes with 2 x 140mm PWM front fans and 1 x 120mm PWM rear fan pre-installed straight out of the box. Get your system up and running faster with ease. Undeniably, the Lian Li O11 Air MINI has become an airy case. It accommodates a lot of fans and absolutely does not get in the way of airflow. The mesh structure allows the air to flow well and looks really good to boot in our eyes. It gives the case an absolutely clean look. This is also rounded off by the glass panel on the side, which provides a view into the interior. Unlike the case, Lian Li does not rely on aluminum for the frame. Instead, the manufacturer uses steel here. This benefits the stability of the case. All in all, the case makes a very good impression. Especially the workmanship leaves nothing to be desired.

Do you also like the mesh look more than glass?

Furthermore, the Lian Li O11 Air Mini rear panel is modular. It is possible to reduce the 7-slot rear to 5 slots and to move the mainboard opening downwards. A matching bezel is included in the scope of delivery. Thus, the possibility for a radiator in the lid can be created. It should be noted, however, that this does not work with an ATX mainboard, as this requires the full height. However, if you have a Micro-ATX mainboard, you have all options open here. Small tower with big airflow, the O11 AIR MINI provides modular design for ATX, M-ATX or ITX motherboards. Being all about the air, O11 AIR MINI has a spacious interior to accommodate multiple confirgurations of fan and radiator setups to maximize the airflow.

I'm planning on booting my NZXT H510 hotbox in August with the release of the Lian Li O11 Air Mini. I've been on the hunt for an ATX case that isn't much bigger than what I have and will give me drastically better thermals at a whisper quiet. I am currently running a 280mm AIO as intake, with a 120mm Noctua for rear exhaust, and 140mm Noctua for top exhaust. I had some great temps on my ASUS TUF 3080 in quiet mode, but needed to add the 280mm AIO to calm my 5600X. I'm planning on transitioning all components and will decide on either going cheap with Arctic P14/P12 fans, or drop some cash on RGB. I've attached an image of what I'm planning to do with the O11 Air Mini. The 280mm AIO will only fit on front or bottom (which won't work). Looking at this, this is going to be a real pressure positive case. Should I look to not do the side intake to make things as neutral as possible? Any experience with the other O11 cases I would think could help me here. Thanks! The power supply is mounted in the Lian Li O11 Air Mini as usual with four screws. Well thought-out by Lian Li: The power supply is slightly elevated and does not rest on the floor. This gives you the opportunity to neatly run cables underneath and thus reach the lower slots on the motherboard. Similar openings are also found on the upper edge. In the HDD/SSD case, the disks can be stored in two holders with the included screws. Once screwed tight, they can be put into the case. Practical test

Configuration Options

Inside, as already mentioned, the well-known and proven two-chamber system is used. Here, the two chambers are separated by a wall that forms a “step”. In this step you can install a 240 mm radiator. In the bend of the partition are two openings, which are provided with gray rubber lips. Cables can be cleverly passed through here without opening the view into the second rear chamber. If time is saved on perfect cable management, this still keeps things looking tidy in the visible main chamber. Optimized Dust Management The mesh panels of O11 Air Mini are designed as dust filters and intake sufficient air into the chassis. Dual Chamber Design for Cable Management The dual-chamber design behind the motherboard tray made cable management a simple job.

Clearance for High-Performance CPU Cooler and ATX PSU Although O11 Air Mini is a compact case, it provides up to 167mm height CPU clearance, allowing users to mount their performance CPU cooler in the system. Great case, enabling a very powerful system to be installed in a form factor that doesn't take over your desk. Furthermore, you can install a standard ATX mainboard in the main chamber and place a tower cooler with a height of up to 170 mm on it. Furthermore, you can install graphics cards that have a maximum length of 362 millimeters. The numbers definitely impressed us.

To test the functionality of the case, we installed some hardware components. We used the following components for this purpose: The mesh design on the front, top and side panels of the O11 AIR MINI have been optimized to allow maximum airflow from different sides of the case to the temperatures stable and low. The super fine mesh also acts as dust filter to avoid dust buildup inside the case. Lian Li O11 Air Mini supports a motherboard up to E-ATX, however it is much more interesting when you work with a smaller Micro-ATX as that allows you to open up the top of the case for cooling hardware. To put this case through its cooling paces we will be using a test system consisting of an Intel Core i9-11900K, Palit RTX 3080 10GB and an SSD. This system allows us to produce a substantial amount of heat and effectively test the Lian Li O11 Air Mini‘s cooling capabilities.
