Based on Jeremy Dyson and Andy Nyman’s 2010 stage play of the same name, Ghost Stories is an anthology of sorts that handily succeeds at giving you goosebumps. Bloody Muscle Body Builder in Hell’s backstory involves the spirit of a woman killed in the house by Naoto’s father and waiting all these years for revenge, but it’s just an excuse to have characters become possessed and stage some outrageous gore gags. Husband-and-wife Sudanese refugees Bol (Sope Dirisu) and Rial (Wunmi Mosaku) have been through more than most endure in a lifetime. Of course, if you’ve seen more than a couple of horror movies, or even the prologue to this one, you know it isn’t entirely empty. Japan's answer to “The Evil Dead” which see’s a couple of paranormal investigators accompanied by the ex-boyfriend of one of them who make a bloody mess of a creepy Tokyo house with a murderous past as they provoke the wrath of a jealous vengeful spirit.

Die Handlung orientiert sich hier am großen Vorbild "Tanz der Teufel" und lässt auch etwas vom Haunted-House-Thema aus "Hausu" mit einfließen. Definitely not for everyone, but would probably make a great double bill with another super low budget film, like Soft For Digging - both have really cool low budget effects to show the supernatural, even if both are tonally quite different.

As we head into the weekend, here’s a roundup of ten of horror’s most intense, bone-chilling movies. Clocking in at a mere 62 minutes it's a short affair, which is just as well as the majority of the movie is set inside a single room of a small cramped house. I started with the big slasher franchises then worked my way through other genre classics before seeking out increasingly obscure titles — a journey that continues to this day.A heavily overcrowded afterlife caused the dead to spill over into the world of the living to a chilling effect. Bloody Muscle Body Builder in Hell’s other effects range from a nicely done scene where a knife goes in the back of a head and emerges through an eye socket, a headless corpse that won’t stay dead and lots of primitive stop motion/Claymation meltdowns and, in another highlight a build up as a mass of disembodied flesh and blood reunites itself with its skeleton. We’re forever chasing the thrills that a great scary movie can bring, which is no easy feat the more entrenched in the genre we become.

At around an hour in length, Bloody Muscle Body Builder in Hell doesn’t overstay its welcome, but it also doesn’t really offer much of a storyline. There is a proverb which says that good things come to those who wait, seems like Bloody Muscle Body Builder in Hell is one of that good things. And it works in large part because of the obvious enthusiasm and love of the genre, especially the Evil Dead franchise, that went into it. Bizarre little horror film that, in spite of its incredibly low budget, manages to provide some genuinely artistic moments of horror among the spurting arteries and decapitation. this movie lives up to it's reputation of being a whack-o derivative piece of gonzo film making, all in a span of 62 minutes.

When he’s given three unsolvable case files, he embarks on a journey that shakes his cynicism to its core. So the reunited pair pays a visit to the house – a part of Naota’s inheritance – with Mika’s colleague the psychic Mizuguchi (Masaaki Kai) in tow. Gedreht wurde "Bloody Muscle Body Builder in Hell" auf Super-8, was der Optik zwar einen Retro-Touch verleiht, aber die Qualität leider auf unterem VHS-Niveau mit grieseligem Bild ansiedelt.Since he’s apparently never gotten over her he agrees and, along with a psychic named Mizuguchi (Asako Nosaka) they head off to the now deserted house. They invade like a viral infection via technology, plunging the globe into hopeless despair and death.
