I’m not sure what the nut is made of, and after checking, Epiphone didn't list it on their site, but mine is cut well. We advise you to update to a currently supported browser (such as Chrome, Edge, or Firefox) to improve your security, speed, and overall experience. Epiphone might have cut a few corners in other areas, but at least they gave us the best fretboard a guitarist can ask for.

The Epiphone Special CE is an amazing first guitar which features the classic look of a Les Paul in a very affordable format that makes an incredible first guitar. In the neck position, you’ll find a warm sounding 650R pickup while the bridge position holds a slightly hotter 700T. GuitaristNext Door recently got hold of a budget edition of this famed electric—the Epiphone Les Paul Special Vintage Edition—and we detailed the whole experience.

I added some of my favorite pickups and a bridge with fine tuners, just like my 1974 Gibson Les Paul Custom.

Attached to the body via sturdy bolt-on construction is an Okoume neck with a 1960’s SlimTaper D profile, giving you a fast and comfortable playing experience. It is no longer speculation, but a well known fact that music lessons improve other scholastic scores because only daily practice improves any new skill. Other than some of my own personal opinions on the pickups, I can’t think about anything wrong or detrimental about this guitar, it seriously is a great playing piece of gear.

It seems as though entry level, dual humbucker-equipped guitars are causing quite a stir here lately.

First off, the models in your poll are purely for beginners, modders or someone who wants to destroy a cheap instrument. The Epiphone Les Paul Special VE, seen here in a super sleek Vintage Worn Ebony, gives you fantastic Les Paul style with a worn finish and open coil humbuckers. I’m not sure if that's because I’m not used to a 14” radius or maybe just not being used to a Les Paul body in general; either way it didn’t take me long to warm up to, but it definitely feels a little harder to hit those notes than on another single cutaway, like a Tele for instance. Using an unsecured network in a public place can be risky as unauthorised people may try to intercept anything you're doing online.

I received the Vintage Worn Vintage Sunburst (that’s a vintage mouthful) finish and it’s astonishing! At first glance we see it's a familiar, single-cutaway, Les Paul Special body with a TOM (Tune-o-matic) bridge, dual humbuckers, and 1 of 5 vintage worn finishes (walnut, ebony, cherry, vintage sunburst, or heritage cherry sunburst). Great sounding and easy to play the Les Paul Special VE provides great value for money with a guitar that will last a long time. Yeah, they’re not as bad as plastic tuners like you’d find on an actual toy guitar, but they are annoyingly loose. Tuning this instrument is fast and reliable thanks to the Epiphone Premium Covered tuners with a 14:1 ratio.
